27-Jan-2009: E-Learn 2009
E-Learn 2009, the World Conference on E-Learning, will be held in Vancouver this October (26-30th)!
Make plans to attend E-Learn 2009 in Vancouver, Canada, on October 26-30th. I’m looking forward to both attending sessions and, given a successful submission, presenting my work. Vancouver is a wonderful city and will be gearing up for the Olympics in February, 2010. So, don’t miss this opportunity to visit before the crowds descend on the city months later.

25-Aug-2008: Introducing BlogDesk!
Check out BlogDesk, a desktop software program that makes it easy to write and publish blogs.
BlogDesk is a blog management tool that provides an easy-to-use WYSIWYG interface for blogging. Whether you are using ExpressionEngine, WordPress, or another Web-based blogging system, BlogDesk can auto-detect your settings and have you blogging with style in minutes. I’ve decided to use it for a “trial period” in managing a few of my website blogs and, so far, I’m very pleased.
So, what are the benefits of blogging through desktop software. First, you can take your time in formulating an entry and save and revise it over a period of days or weeks before posting. Second, you have a running log of your entries stored on your computer system as a backup. Third, you can post a single entry to multiple blogs at the same time. And, lastly, it is far easier to use a WYSIWYG editor with image manipulation capabilities than trying to modify HTML code.

Feel free to visit the website and let us know what you think. Developed and published by Glen Coulthard, our print-based and multimedia screencast tutorials for Office 2007 will be uploaded shortly. Please check back often.
13-May-2008: Google AdSense
Our site is now serving related (and relevant) ads to visitors using Google's AdSense.
Google’s AdSense program provides an opportunity for you to collect advertising revenue from your website. As opposed to delivering generic ads using a shotgun approach, AdSense serves ads using both text and images that precisely target customers based on your site’s content. For more information, follow the AdSense online tour.
05-May-2008: Website Launched
Our website is launched using EllisLab's exceptional ExpressionEngine CMS!
ExpressionEngine is developed by EllisLabs, located in Bend, Oregon. Their other products and partnerships include CodeIgniter, a PHP-based Web application framework, and EngineHosting, a Web hosting sister company that offers custom solutions for the ExpressionEngine content management system.
21-Apr-2008: Selecting a CMS
We have evaluated many CMS open-source and commercial systems that meet our needs.
The CMS Matrix at www.cmsmatrix.org provided a wealth of information for researching and analyzing potential content management systems. In the end, our short-list of vendors included ExpressionEngine, MODx, SilverStripe, and CMSMadeSimple. While all of these products have their strengths and weaknesses, the features and support provided by EllisLabs and ExpressionEngine won over our development team.
04-Apr-2008: Research Begins
Research begins on selecting a CMS (content management system) for our new website.
